Overview

The Burlington Hoops Basketball Club (BHBC) was incorporated as a not-for-profit basketball sports association and later sanctioned by Basketball Ontario this past year. The Club was founded by a small group of long-time, devoted Burlington basketball parents and volunteers committed to providing a stronger, more rewarding experience for all basketball stakeholders in the City of Burlington, especially our athletes. Energized and endorsed by a highly qualified and experienced group of local coaches, the foundation was laid for the launch of BHBC and the new Burlington Skyhawks.

Burlington Hoops is determined to build on the tremendous growth of the City of Burlington and of basketball nationally and regionally by offering a new and greater opportunity for our local athletes to excel.

Burlington Hoops and the Skyhawks were born out of a shared vision to create and provide our Burlington basketball athletes:

• a more rewarding experience for players and parents that could grow and thrive as a premier program in the City of Burlington and in Ontario’s basketball community;
• a program to continue to distinguish through our ability to develop skilled basketball players competing at the elementary, high school, regional, provincial, and national levels through the quality of our provincially certified, highly experienced coaching staff and our hard-working managers and administrators;
• a club strongly unified in delivering the highest quality programs to develop the fundamentals of team and individual play with emphasizing the values of sportsmanship and fair play;
• a more open, transparent member-based association, committed to good governance, accountability and integrity.
