Vern LucykPersonal History: Vern has coached teams in volleyball, football, touch football and in basketball. His background in basketball spans 40 years of coaching. He has coached numerous players that have gone on to play at Canadian Colleges, Universities and even the National Level. He is particularly proud that about a dozen of his players have given back to the sport by entering the basketball coaching ranks. Having taught and coached in the Halton High School level for nearly 40 years he has been fortunate to win championships in all 3 major sports he has coached but in particular he has had basketball teams skilled enough to win many championships ranging from elementary, high school to the provincial level. He is presently a retired teacher who continues to coach at the high school level. Coaching History: Halton elementary, all 3 levels of high school (midget, junior and senior), Provincial JDP for 2 years, Ontario Summer Games and at Sheridan College for 1 year Certification Level: Level 3 Technical Personal Philosophy: To get players to strive to reach their potential as a player and a person. I am particularily proud that having coached in hundreds of games I could count on one hand the number of times that every single player didn't get a chance to play some part of the game.
