Jenn Newton

Personal History: Jenn (McNaughton) played high level provincial basketball as a member of the Mohawk College Varsity Women’s basketball team between 1994 and 1997. In 1997 she Captained the team and was selected to the Provincial OCAA All-Star Team. At the close of her playing career Jenn turned her passion for the game into a decade long officiating career as a referee with the Hamilton Board of Approved Basketball Officials.

Coaching History: Jenn has coached at various levels for over 10 years in the local area. She began as an Assistant Coach of the Parkside High School Sr. Girls team in ’96-’97. From 2002 to 2005 she coached within the Basketball Ontario Elite Development Program and for the Mountain Region MDP team which won a Silver medal in provincial competition.

In 2005 Jenn returned to her alma mater as Assistant Coach for the Lady Mountaineer’s of Mohawk College.

Coach Newton Coaching Certification: Currently pursuing NCCP Level 2 certification.
