Burlington Skyhawks Juvenile Boys Win OBA Gold Medal!

At the Provincial Championships held recently in Waterloo, the Burlington Skyhawks Juvenile Boys won the Div. III Gold Medal after posting a perfect 5-0 throughout the weekend. Way to go boys!

Many, many thanks to coaches Gord McNeice and Ross Black and manager Jacqueline Springer for all their effort and time during the season. Team members included: George Abula, Christopher Carter, Caleb Caunce, Kyle Dawson, Niko Farkas, Jacob Lindgren, Aaron Manning, Drew McNeice, Richy Milo, Mandeep Sidhu, Matt Smiarowski and Justin Springer.


Burlington Skyhawks Bantam Boys Win Provincial Gold!

During recent action at the Ontario Basketball Provincial championships, the Burlington Skyhawks bantam boys secured a wildcard spot to advance to the division five semifinals. In the semis they defeated the Chatham-Kent Wildcats 62-55. The Skyhawks then advanced to face the Mississauga Monarchs #1 in the gold medal game. After an 8 point half-time deficit the Skyhawks rallied back to secure gold with a final score of 54-47. Congratulations boys on a great season.

Burlington Skyhawks Major Bantam Boys #1 won a Bronze Medal at the Ontario Basketball Association Ontario Cup Championships, in London, Ontario, April 24, 25, 26.
 
Playing in division 3, the Skyhawks finished first in their pool in round robin play. They then beat Gloucester Wolverines #1 in the quarter finals. In the semi-finals they lost to Oakville Vytis #1 and then beat the Waterloo Wolverines for the bronze medal. In the bronze medal game the Skyhawks were trailing by 17 after the first quarter but battled back to win the game 58-52.
