Juvenile Girls Skyhawks Win Gold!!

At the recent Blessed Sacrament Juvenile Girls Basketball Tournament the Juvenile Skyhawks avenged their only loss in pool play to bring home the Gold Medal vs. the New man Youth. The tournament started our with a tough last second lost to Newman Youth yet the Burlington Girl's rose to the challenge and defeated Oakville, Kingston and Sarnia to enter the gold medal game as the top seed vs. Newman Youth. This final game like the first was a close yet the Skyhawk Girl's came out on top.

Major Bantam Boys Take Silver!

In recent action at the Ontario Basketball Association championship in Ottawa the Burlington Skyhawk Major Bantam Boys earned silver in Division 7 amongst 14 divisions. An over-time loss by 2 on Friday night to the North Toronto Huskies caused the Skyhawk's to redouble their efforts on Saturday as they won games against Niagara Falls #1 and the Scarborough Blues to secure a spot in the semi-finals. The early Sunday game against 1st ranked East York was an epic contest that went to overtime and ended 82-80 in favour of the Skyhawks thus advancing the team to the gold medal game. In the final game against Niagara Falls #1 the Skyhawks had to deal with injuries and very tired legs sustained in the morning session. Niagara came out strong and built a 10 point lead early and maintained it the entire game.

In addition to Silver at the OBA's the Burlington Skyhawks team won gold at their home A/AA tournament in February and Division 3B Gold at the Blessed Sacrament Tournament in April. Congratulations boys on a great season!

MAJOR ATOM BOYS WIN GOLD AT BLESSED SACRAMENT TOURNAMENT

The Burlington Skyhawk Major Atom Boys won Gold medals in Division Three at the Blessed Sacrament Tournament March 4th to 6th, 2011. This is the second Gold medal for this team as they collected their first Gold medal in St.Catharine's in December, and a Bronze medal in Stoney Creek in January. The Burlington Skyhawks are having a very successful season as they are now 16-4 on the season.

Burlington Skyhawks Juvenile Boys Win OBA Gold Medal!

At the Provincial Championships held recently in Waterloo, the Burlington Skyhawks Juvenile Boys won the Div. III Gold Medal after posting a perfect 5-0 throughout the weekend. Way to go boys!

Many, many thanks to coaches Gord McNeice and Ross Black and manager Jacqueline Springer for all their effort and time during the season. Team members included: George Abula, Christopher Carter, Caleb Caunce, Kyle Dawson, Niko Farkas, Jacob Lindgren, Aaron Manning, Drew McNeice, Richy Milo, Mandeep Sidhu, Matt Smiarowski and Justin Springer.

Burlington Skyhawks Bantam Boys Win Provincial Gold!

During recent action at the Ontario Basketball Provincial championships, the Burlington Skyhawks bantam boys secured a wildcard spot to advance to the division five semifinals. In the semis they defeated the Chatham-Kent Wildcats 62-55. The Skyhawks then advanced to face the Mississauga Monarchs #1 in the gold medal game. After an 8 point half-time deficit the Skyhawks rallied back to secure gold with a final score of 54-47. Congratulations boys on a great season.

Burlington Skyhawks Major Bantam Boys #1 won a Bronze Medal at the Ontario Basketball Association Ontario Cup Championships, in London, Ontario, April 24, 25, 26.
 
Playing in division 3, the Skyhawks finished first in their pool in round robin play. They then beat Gloucester Wolverines #1 in the quarter finals. In the semi-finals they lost to Oakville Vytis #1 and then beat the Waterloo Wolverines for the bronze medal. In the bronze medal game the Skyhawks were trailing by 17 after the first quarter but battled back to win the game 58-52.
